Die Biografie der beiden Gastgeber ist genauso abwechslungsreich wie anregend, ebenso extravagant wie überraschend. Die Betriebswirtin sowie der Jurist und Journalist beschlossen, nachdem sie jahrelang in ihren erlernten Berufen tätig gewesen waren, im Jahr 1995 ihrem Leben eine unkonventionelle Wende zu geben. Am Hotel Gartner hatte zum damaligen Zeitpunkt der Zahn der Zeit schon etwas genagt, und dieser Umstand, gepaart mit der großen Lust auf eine neue Herausforderung , brachte die beiden dazu, sich in ein aufregendes Abenteuer zu stürzen und ihre Zukunft im Gastgewerbe zu suchen. Die neue Karriere startete gleich mit einem großen Umbau im Jahr 1996 . Die Idee war klar: Das Gartner sollte – dem Geschmack und dem persönlichen Lifestyle der neuen Inhaber folgend – eines der führenden Designhotels Südtirols werden. Kunst, Literatur, Musik und Mode – die persönlichen Vorlieben der beiden Neo-Hoteliers – sollten im neu gestalteten Haus Einzug halten. Nach der Erneuerung des Westflügels und dem Bau eines lichtdurchfluteten Wintergartens folgten Schritt für Schritt weitere Eingriffe, die das Gartner wieder auf eine moderne Spur brachten. 2008 kam eine großzügige Lounge mit schicker Rezeption hinzu, dazu neue Zimmer und Bäder , ein stylischer Speisesaal , mehrere Pools und Saunen – Elemente, die das Hotel rasch in den Fokus der Ästheten rückten. 2019 schließlich regnete es heimische und internationale Architekturpreise , als Barbara und Florian Gartner gemeinsam mit dem Bozner Architekturbüro „Monovolume“ ein spektakuläres SPA-Gebäude mit Saunen, Behandlungsräumen, Pools und Fitnessstudio realisierten. Ein aufsehenerregendes Loft im weitläufigen Park tat ein Übriges, um das Gartner endgültig zum Tiroler Zeitgeist-Place zu machen. Die geniale Dachterrasse „White Heaven Terrace“ auf dem SPA-House mit Rundumblick und eine riesige Bibliothek folgten 2023 . Im selben Jahr kehrte auch unsere Tochter Greta nach ihrem Tourismusmanagement-Master in Wien und wertvollen Erfahrungen in einigen der besten Hotels zurück ins Gartner und unterstützt uns seither mit frischen Ideen und voller Energie. Mit diesem Rückenwind öffnete sich 2024 ein neues Kapitel: Das Haus verfügt nun über eine der modernsten und stylischsten Küchen Südtirols – Bühne für größere Gourmet-Erlebnisse, überraschende Veranstaltungen, Verkostungen und Begegnungen. Und die Lifestyle-Geschichte geht weiter: 2025 erhielt die Hotelhalle einen goldenen Anstrich samt neuen Möbeln. Vi diamo il benvenuto al  Design Hotel Gartner insieme a Barbara, Florian e Greta Gartner ! La biografia dei due padroni di casa è tanto varia quanto stimolante, tanto singolare quanto sorprendente. L’economista e il giurista-giornalista decisero, dopo anni di lavoro nelle rispettive professioni, di dare nel 1995 una svolta anticonvenzionale alla loro vita. All’epoca l’ Hotel Gartner mostrava già i segni del tempo e, unita al desiderio di una nuova sfida , questa circostanza spinse i due a lanciarsi in una grande avventura e a cercare il futuro nell’ospitalità. La nuova carriera iniziò subito con un grande rinnovamento nel 1996 : l’idea era chiara, il Gartner doveva diventare – seguendo lo stile e il gusto personale dei nuovi proprietari – uno dei principali Design Hotel dell’Alto Adige . Arte, letteratura, musica e moda – le passioni dei due neo-albergatori – trovarono così spazio nella casa rinnovata. Dopo il restyling dell’ala ovest e la costruzione di una luminosa veranda invernale, seguirono passo dopo passo altri interventi che riportarono il Gartner su una rotta moderna. 2008 portò con sé una lounge spaziosa con reception elegante , nuove camere e bagni , una sala da pranzo di design , oltre a piscine e saune – elementi che posero presto l’hotel al centro dell’attenzione degli amanti dell’estetica. 2019 arrivarono premi nazionali e internazionali di architettura quando Barbara e Florian Gartner, insieme allo studio di architettura Monovolume di Bolzano , realizzarono un edificio SPA spettacolare con saune, sale trattamenti, piscine e fitness . Un loft scenografico immerso nel parco contribuì a rendere il Gartner un vero place-to-be tirolese. La straordinaria terrazza panoramica “White Heaven Terrace” sulla SPA House e una grande biblioteca seguirono nel 2023 . Nello stesso anno anche la figlia Greta tornò dopo il master in management del turismo a Vienna e preziose esperienze in hotel di prestigio: da allora arricchisce il team con idee fresche ed energia. Con questo nuovo slancio nel 2024 è nata una delle cucine più moderne e raffinate dell’Alto Adige , palcoscenico per esperienze gourmet, eventi e degustazioni.
